Over the years, castor oil packs have become one of my favourite complementary therapies to use alongside colonic hydrotherapy. While they are not a new therapy—in fact, their use dates back thousands of years—they continue to generate interest among practitioners looking for gentle, supportive approaches that may complement client care.

This manual has been written to provide a balanced and professional overview of castor oil packs. Throughout the course we will explore their fascinating history, traditional uses, current evidence, practical application and important safety considerations. We will also discuss where practitioner experience sits alongside scientific research and how to communicate responsibly with clients.

Rather than encouraging unsupported health claims, this course aims to help you develop sound clinical reasoning, understand the current evidence base and apply castor oil packs safely and appropriately within your own professional scope of practice.

As with all complementary therapies, castor oil packs should be viewed as one part of a wider wellbeing approach and should never replace appropriate medical assessment, diagnosis or treatment.
